Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Doc

The instant I saw Seattle’s Macklemore & Ryan LewisThrift Shop video I knew we were in for something really special. What I didn’t know  until now (and is awesome BTW!) is that they are still 100% independent and not signed to a label!

Jabari Presents featured the world’s favourite thrift shop junkies.

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis recently released their debut album “The Heist” which reached number 2 on the Billboard charts with 78,000 units sold in it’s first week. Their success is incredible as the duo is still an independent act with no major record label involved.

In this short film I traveled to Seattle, Washington to spend the week with Macklemore and Ryan as they shot their now infamous “Thrift Shop” music video, and prepared for the release of “The Heist”. The two brought me into their indie lives and showed me what it takes day after day to reach the level of success they have.

New Music – Imagine Dragons

On recent trip to NYC I heard Imagine Dragon‘s “Its Time” over the radio and I tagged  it on Shazam right away because its sound really caught my attention.

Imagine Dragon is a four member indie rock band from Las Vegas.

That said, I love that song, the Continued Silence EP sounds great and I’m pretty much sold on buying the album when it comes out in September.

The “Its Time” video has been on YouTube over a month and has over a million views to date. I think its just the tip of the iceberg.

Woodkid – Run Boy Run Video

It’s hard to believe but it’s already been over a year since Yoann Lemoine aka Woodkid came to my attention with his now iconic video for “Iron”.

Woodkid’s follow-up “Run Boy Run” is a similar visual feast and doesn’t disappoint.
